After taking an extra day “off” from my usual activities, I’m back! This past weekend I left America for the first time since 2004 and made my first expedition to Montreal, Quebec. It was extremely humbling experience for several reasons: realizing that I did not speak the native language and was relatively helpless; attempting to function in a climate that I am extremely uncomfortable in; realizing that I was pretty unprepared for the conditions the venue supplied and how long the event lasted. It was an extremely good trip for me in that I learned a lot about being out of my element and better ways to be active in preparation for my travel events. I’m very comfortable in New York at this point, and take for granted that everything won’t be the same everywhere I go. A lot of the times when I travel I have someone else taking care of everything and putting everything into context for me based on their previous trips, but now I have a better idea of how to take control of these sorts of things myself and therefore do a better job.
That being said, I’d just like to put it out there as a polite reminder that if anyone’s ever interested in having me take photos for them I am more than happy to travel pretty much anywhere. I can now proudly say I’ve traveled the continent taking photos, and I’m always happy to go to more, new places. I’m very willing to exchange photos for travel fare, so if you enjoy what I do get in touch! DM me, email me, whatever you wanna do! I’m available to work and show everyone how cool your show is <3
